Triangle Associates is collaborating with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) on the Empowerment Pilot, an innovative initiative placing highly impacted communities at the forefront of designing energy solutions that reflect their unique realities. Rooted in equity-centered design, this project creates space for PSE customers to learn about and co-create Distributed Energy Resource (DER) programs that address energy burdens, expand access to clean energy, and ensure the benefits of the clean energy transition reach everyone.

Through facilitated sessions, we guide participants in bringing their lived experiences, challenges, and strengths into a process of collective problem-solving. This work goes beyond consultation–it’s about deep listening, community-driven insights, and building solutions that emerge from the experiences and needs of those most impacted.

The Empowerment Pilot reflects Triangle’s dedication to authentic co-design—working alongside communities to design solutions with them, not for them. We support meaningful participation through the application of best practices in equitable community engagement including collaboration with local partners, moving at the speed of trust, compensation for participation, provision of food and childcare, transportation support, etc.
