Betsy Daniels, Triangle Associates’ Co-President, is featured in the new documentary, “Finding Common Ground: Collaborative Leadership in Washington State.” This film was produced by Michael Kern, a Triangle alumnus, and a leader in the field of collaborative governance.
The goal of the documentary is to capture the unique, 50-year history of collaborative decision-making for natural resources in Washington State. The story begins with the Boldt decision in 1974 that upheld tribal fishing rights and the film continues with the negotiations to establish state and tribal co-management of salmon and steelhead fisheries. “Finding Common Ground” brings the history of many groundbreaking natural resource management decision to life through the voices of those who helped shaped them.
In the film, Betsy Daniels shares the story of how Triangle Associates emerged in the face of these environmental conflicts and was at the forefront of designing collaborative solutions that brought people to the table for sustainable decision-making.
